Jenny picked up a makeup brush and began dabbling in makeup over a decade ago unaware of its significance while an natural science student at UT Austin. Her world was always so set and finite, with little wiggle room for creativity while working at UT's cancer research labs in addition to her 18 hour science laden course load. The very act of creating art inspired Jenny to take herself to the next level and began working hands-on with cosmetics super part time. Her first opportunity arose when Jenny was approached to do last minute makeup on her first short film Play Land w/ now close friend Russell Groves with Ralph Smyth Entertainment. The catch and decision at hand was she would basically not sleep for five days since she was already booked for work that week during the day.. and these were night shoots... at the end of that very sleepless week, something ignited within her and Jenny has not looked back ever since. Fast forward, Jenny's work has been seen on major motion pictures, television shows and national commercials. Beyond her video work, Jenny attained experience in makeup for commercial print ads and lifestyle shoots as well as a roster of celebrity, political and public faces for red carpet and special events.
Jenny Lin's work and herself has been featured in National publications such as Runner's World and local Austin Publications including Tribeza and Austin Woman Magazine. She has expanded her makeup bag of tricks to include special effect and trauma makeups, airbrushing, tattoo work and the ability to do whatever it takes to get the job done beautifully, efficiently and quickly. Past two years include department heading Robert Rodriguez's From Dusk Till Dawn seasons 2 and 3 as well as department head duties on video game giant Roosterteeth's first full-length feature Lazer Team, beauty and effects makeup for Demi Lovato's music video "Confident" and leading makeup designs/makeup effects for FOX 21 USA's season one 13 episodic Queen of the South shot in Dallas, TX. Jenny most recently wrapped filming in Austin department heading makeup for James Cameron/ Robert Rodriguez feature film Alita: Battle Angel starring Rosa Salazar, Jennifer Connelly, Christoph Waltz, Mahershala Ali, and Lana Condor.
Currently, Jenny is working on location in Atlanta designing makeup for FOX/ Marvel's most highly anticipated new TV series The Gifted directed by Bryan Singer, written by Matt Nix alongside her partner in crime, Charles Yusko, department head of hair.
